Hypertext & Art, A Retrospective of Forms

6.–20. September 2023 | Musei Capitolini | ACM Hypertext conference

Exhibition Context

This exhibition is a formal event associated with the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Hypertext conference. For those of you unfamiliar with ACM Hypertext, it is a prestigious conference that began in 1987 and whose members specialize in some aspect of hypertext studies. In fact, Michael Joyce, Mark Bernstein, and Ben Shneiderman, whose works are included in our exhibition, attended HT ‘ 87. Many of you have attended other HT conferences that followed. It is great to bring you back to it this year.

Schedule

The exhibition launches on Wednesday, September 6 in the late afternoon and runs until the 20th of the month. For those of you who plan to be in Rome for the exhibition, I have organized artist talks from 1:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. I am also working to host a special celebration on Friday for the 30th Anniversary of Lorenzo Miglioni’s RA-DIO, which includes Walter Vannini’s translation of Michael Joyce’s afternoon, a story in Italian, both treasures.
